Our Community Is Where They Start Over

Each year, around 225 refugees are resettled in the Tri-Cities. From the beginning, refugees face the challenges of adapting to an entirely new culture—learning English, accessing transportation, adjusting to different cultural expectations, shopping, navigating our education system and building a supportive community. B5, rooted in the neighborhood where the refugees make their new homes, is there to help make this transitional journey easier for families.

“Immigrants and refugees, having left their home communities, especially need to find new welcoming communities…”third places” where they feel safe, near where they live. B5 plays a crucial role as they welcome – and provide lifelong support – to these new arrivals in the Tri-Cities” – Cheryl and Ralph Broetje, Broetje Family Trust.
